Fern's Bio:
Fern Samuels received her Master of Fine Arts degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has had many solo exhibits in national museums and galleries. Samuels is one of the founders of A.R.C. Gallery, one of the first women's cooperative galleries in the United States. Samuels was an associate Professor of Art at Columbia College, Chicago,where she received a faculty development grant.
Artist Statement:
I have been an artist for 50 years and have done all kinds of art from collage and painting to printmaking. My latest project is book illustration . I have done two books both in conjunction with a poet. I work partially on the computer and all profits from the sale of these goes to Breast Cancer Research Foundation. I like to move around from one media to another.
