Lynne's Bio:

My passion for art began in mid-life. In the early years, my love was music and my
education was in nursing.  Motherhood then became my focus. After raising three
children with my husband, my creative yearning began.

I began by studying and practicing the techniques of the Masters.  First I studied
drawing, and then turned to painting. Transparent watercolor is my medium of
choice because of the many challenges it presents.  I am a figurative artist and love
the sensitive character of portrait studies.  I work from life to capture that special
personality; however I also use photographs to study the nuisances of color and
shadow without hindrance of time.  I prefer candid images—seeking to grasp just
the right expressions.

Figures are my first love, but I find joy in all living things and love painting plants,
flowers, animals and even those wonderful insects.

I search for the challenge of new techniques, new ideas, and I am always on the
quest for another character study.

Artist Statement:

I  began painting and am a Signature member of the Florida Watercolor Society, as well as, a member of the Florida Artists Group.  Watercolor, with all of its many challenges would be my favorite medium—graphite and acrylic to follow.  I love to paint people, but really almost anything alive---animals, insects, foliage—and want to convey their story.  My quest in the journey of art would always be to capture their essence.
