Artist Bio:
I have enjoyed painting since childhood. Self taught and open to new avenues of
creating art, my appreciation of color and its significant feature to art has been
enhanced by my diagnosis of macular degeneration in both eyes. I have created and
sold art professionally and my work may be found in private collections and the
permanent collection of the Caswell Council for the Arts. I continue to donate my art
work to Nonprofit fund raising organizations. My work has been in Juried Art Exhibitions
winning many awards in Florida, North Carolina and Virginia. I have included a flyer of
my latest award for Best in Show for my acrylic on canvas, "February" painted in 2014.
The Danville Museum of Fine Art and History holds my current exhibition of art.
Organizations that have held my art include: Alamance Arts Council Twin Galleries,
Barrier Island Group for the Arts, Caswell Arts Council, Raleigh Fine Arts Society,
Ridge Art Association, Danville Museum of Fine Art and History, May Memorial Library.
Friday Center at UNC Chapel Hill, Center for Creative Leadership and Duke Eye Center.
My memberships in art organizations include the following: Charter Member, Florida
Museum for Women Artists, Alamance Artisans Guild, Burlington Artists League,
Caswell Council for the Arts, Danville Artists League and the Ridge Art Association.
I live and paint in Florida and reside summers in North Carolina to be near my two
youngest grandchildren. AH four of our grandchildren have enjoyed painting with me
and my husband, who has taught us all to enjoy color and our abstract mode.

Nancy's Artist Statement:

I create art because it allows my imagination to run wild.
The canvas is a visual adventure. A journey through color.
