 Mary Alice's Bio

Mary Alice holds a BS Degree in Music Education from Georgia Southern University. She taught in the
public school system until she retired to pursue a career in art. She studied at Eckerd College with
Jim Crane and Margaret Rigg. Most recently she studied with Judi Dazzio. Mary Alice holds signatures
with: Florida Watercolor Society (President in 2010), Southern Watercolor Society, International
Society of Acrylic Painters and International Society of Experimental Artists. She is an Associate
Member of the National Watercolor Society and joined the Florida Artists Group in 2010.
Her work has been shown in museums and Galleries -local, state, and national and has won many
awards. Her environmental series, "ALL THINGS CONSIDERED", hung in the Division of Cultural
Affairs Gallery for Innovation and the Arts in Tallahassee, FL.
Mary Alice paints in watercolor, acrylic and mixed media. She does experimental work in collage, wood,
and found object assemblages. Humor and color are the defining elements in her painting. Nature and simplicity of line are the trademarks of her wood sculpture and her found object assemblages.
