Richards Bio:

Mr. Capes completed both his undergraduate and graduate degree in art at the University of Georgia. Over the years his works have been featured in many one-man shows and group showings throughout the southeastern United States.

Extended Education

Grant in study-travel Programs in Central America. Recording in writing and painting the experience of
being in such countries as Mexico, Guatemala .Experiencing the art and Culture of the people.
1967 Fellowship to study-travel in Italy. With research, study, paint and drawings for graduate school
credits - 1970.

Artist Statement:
I have a passion for using a variety of materials in each and every work of art.  Exploring to discover the next visual statements.  Art rich with the expression of color, texture, line, and mood.

2012
      Commissioned art for Jennie Carver - three paintings for her Sarasota collection
      Stiffeel & Nicholas law offices - works added to their permanent collection, Sarasota, FL
      Commissioned paintings of court houses (2) by attorney Janella K. Leibovitz Sarasota, FL
      $1,000 purchase for permanent collection by Broken Egg Restaurant, Siesta Key, Sarasota, FL
      Raymond James Associates added 12 more works of art for their collection in Sarasota, FL
      One Man Show (18 paintings) and lecture about art in the region. Gulf to Bay Center, Sarasota, FL
      15 years creating paintings for the Venice Garden Club of Venice, FL
      Lighthouse of Manasota - a non-profit association added to the collection of Lighthouse Paints
      for a total of one for each 15 years.
      Exhibition of (2) selected paintings of my series named (the great world of circus of life)
      art work was exhibited at the Art Center just outside of Chicago Art Gallery (studio 659) Chicago, IL
      Two acrylic pieces were on display.
