FLAG Celebrate the Arts – Session 11

Margaret Juul

Margaret Juul started her career as a freelance commercial artist working on commissions. Seven years after graduating with her BFA she went back to get the state certification for Interior Design in the State of Florida. While continuing to hone her painting skills and show in galleries she worked as an interior designer. In between two interior designer positions, Juul spent a few years as an art buyer for a national print manufacturer. It was during this period where she showed her work to various buyers and after receiving positive feedback, she decided to pursue selling her own prints. Since this created a conflict of interest for her, she went back to work as an interior designer until 2011. At this time, she suffered an on-the-job accident where her hands were crushed. After recovering, she went to work as a manager for an art gallery. In 2014, Juul started working full time as an Artist. She has created her own successful business including commission-based work, as well as coaching other artists.
