FLAG Celebrate the Arts – Session 15

Laurie Snow Hein

Laurie Snow Hein always loved drawing. Encouraged by her high school art teacher, Laurie applied for and won a scholarship at Columbus College of Art & Design. After her first year in college, Laurie married, studied on her own, painted portraits for Leon Lord Studio, and taught art classes – all while raising a family of six children. Her first gallery was a co-op of portrait painters in Lake Worth, Florida. For a few years, she had her own gallery, the Casey and Jolly Gallery in Palm Beach. At age 40, Laurie became the sole provider for her family and pursued portrait commissions and illustrations, which lead her to become an Art Festival artist. She expanded her art classes and started teaching all mediums at the Everglades Club and Lost Tree Village. Her art has displayed at the Mole Hole in Fort Myers, The Galleria in Naples, and Chandler Gallery in Jupiter. In 2005, Laurie Incorporated her art business into Fine Art Creations Inc. and expanded into printing giclee art. Art shown above: Momentum
