Artist Bio:

Self taught and open to new avenues of creating art.  I have enjoyed painting and drawing since childhood.  My appreciation of color and its significant feature to art has been enhanced by my diagnosis of macular degeneration in both eyes.  I have created and sold art professionally and my work may be found i collections and the permanent collection of the Caswell Council for the Arts.  I continue to donate my art work to NonProfit Fund Raising Organizations.  My work has been in Juried Art Exhibitions in Florida, North Carolina and Virginia.  I maintain memberships in the following art organizations; Charter Member, Florida Museum for Women Artists, Alamance Artisans Guild, Danville Artists League, Florida Artists Group and Tri State Sculptors.  I live and paint in Florida and reside summers in North Carolina to be near my youngest grandchildren.  Our four grandchildren and great grandaughter all enjoy painting, drawing and building sculptures.  My husband,Robert York, is an accomplished artist with a Masters Degree in Fine Art.  Bobby guides and mentors us.

Nancy’s Artist Statement:

I create art because it allows my imagination to run wild.  The canvas before me is a visual adventure.  A journey through color.  Nature offers inspiration and design for found objects assembled as sculpture.
