FLAG SUPPORTS FOLLOWING LOCAL CDC GUIDELINES AT ALL EVENTS.
Your reservation to voluntarily attend FLAG events means you (and your guests) take full responsibility for your health and safety, and you agree that the Florida Artists Group, Inc., and/or its’ Board of Directors or the individuals making up the Board of Directors are not held liable in any way.

Plan a longer stay in the exciting Jacksonville area. The hotel is allowing for extended stays and your choice of room/suite for up to four people at the one same great rate  $159 plus taxes/fees – free parking!

LINK TO ART AWARDS DINNER HERE. You must sign up so that we have the proper head count. You may bring up to four people to the reception by paying for each persons dinner. Please carefully select the number of attendees so that the correct payment amount is shown before paying.  The Friday night reception is free – you may bring up to 3 guests – please advise if you need more by contacting Cheryl Eggleston. Your Area Chair will be asking how many guests you are bringing. The Saturday night dinner (6pm) is $37.00 per person – you may bring up to four (including yourself) – includes buffet, drink, dessert, and tip with cash bar.

EXHIBITION PROSPECTUS – Application Deadline has passed (March 15, 2024)
All members in good standing are entitled to submit one piece to the 74th Annual Symposium Exhibition at The Wilson Center for the Arts, Florida State Collage Jacksonville, South Gallery, 11901 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32246

Artwork previously submitted in a FLAG annual exhibit or ANY OTHER exhibits (including exhibits that were not FLAG) at The Wilson Center for the Arts, Florida State Collage Jacksonville are not eligible including any art artwork older than 3 years which is newly embellished or “reworked”If your art is to “function” it must be in proper working condition for all viewers or it will be disqualified. Should a work be determined ineligible following installation or award, the artwork shall be removed, and the award returned to FLAG.

  1. SEND YOUR VERY BEST PROFESSIONALLY FINISHED ART ONLY. Make FLAG proud please, so the venues support us in the future. Direct your questions on the requirements for the Exhibit and Symposium to Cheryl Eggleston cheryleggleston@floridaartistsgroup.org DO NOT contact the college directly.
  2. 3 Year restriction: Artwork must have been created within 3 years of the deadline March 1, 2024 – this means created no earlier than March 1, 2021. Reworked versions of older work do not meet the 3-year “new” requirement and are not acceptable. Should a work be determined ineligible following installation or award, the artwork shall be removed, and the award returned to FLAG.
  3. Price and Commission: Consistent with FLAG’s policy, no work that is POR (price on request) or NFS (not for sale) is eligible. The venue, Florida State College Jacksonville (FSCJ) does not receive commissions. All sales transactions are with the artists directly.
  4. Content: Only original work is eligible, meaning the submitted artwork is the artist’s own composition in concept and design, created solely by the artist without the use of Ai (artificial intelligence).
    • Artwork shall not be a copy of OR from reference material not solely created by the artists, such as purchased images, stock photos, and published/unpublished copyrighted images. (i.e.: a portrait of a person taken directly from a printed publication that adheres closely to the magazine image would not be eligible.)
    • No highly political, negative, or controversial material is allowed that may cause harm to the FLAG nonprofit status or the venue. Members may present the art for consideration to the Exhibit and Symposium Director prior to submitting the application who shall present it to the President for further action.  Final determination is the responsibility of the President, The Symposium and Exhibition Director, and the Parliamentarian.
    • All art must be presented professionally. Art which arrives warped, unclean, or otherwise damaged will not be exhibited.
    • Multiple prints, such as etchings, must be labeled with the edition number. Single print additions are accepted but must clearly be labeled as a PRINT or DIGITAL PRINT. The print must be numbered with a total printing number of no more than 25.
    • Reproduction prints/archival Giclee prints reproduced from original works of art, embellished or not, are not eligible for exhibition.
    • Original art created on the computer and transferred to paper or cloth material is acceptable if it is labeled as such (i.e.: Digital Art).
    • No Ai (artificial intelligence) generated, or partially generated art is acceptable.
    • The use of monitors for art will be subject annually to the venues’ ability to show such a work of art. No “video” film productions will be eligible. Final art must be considered 2D or 3D in its presentation.
    • If your art is to “function” it must be in perfect working order and all viewers able to use it correctly or it will not be displayed.
  1. Size and media constraints:  

Two-dimensional size restrictions are 40” wide including frame by 84” high.   All two-dimensional work shall have proper installation hardware; saw tooth hardware will not be accepted. Art requiring special installation, such as art with more than one canvas or objects that need to be attached to the wall, must get prior approval from the Exhibit and Symposium Director. Framed artwork must be under Plexiglas. Glass will not be accepted.

Three-dimensional sculptures maximum size on floor standing work is 36″ diameter and 84” high; maximum size for works on pedestals is 24″ at the base, so it isn’t close to edge of the pedestal, and 36” high.

The space is very tight for our large group. There will be no exceptions to the size of 2D. For 3D art, if you have concerns regarding the size restriction contact the Exhibit and Symposium Director who will determine final approval for the art with the FLAG President. Only reasonable size adjustments will be considered.

This is not a “site installation” exhibit.

Electronic Media: If an artist wishes to use a wall or pedestal installed electronic equipment, they must discuss this with the Exhibit and Symposium Director immediately to make sure the art will be acceptable. Artists are required to provide their electronic equipment.

  1. Registration, upload image specs and Payment:

Your Payment of $40.00 through PayPal is required to fully submit your entry in the Entrythingy process so be sure you are prepared to make the  payment prior to submitting all your information. Direct questions on your payment to our Treasurer Clare Radigan at Treasuer@FloridaArtistsGroup.org

Digital image of your artwork MUST BE formatted with the longest side no more than 2100 pixels and 300ppi and up to 2mb in size. An additional jpg image of three-dimensional artwork is allowed.

Label your jpg file (no spaces or dollar sign) as follows: Lastname_Firstname_Area#_Title_Dimensions_Medium_ Price.jpg

  1. Delivery AND Pickup Instructions:

Label your artwork – For 2D, please attach a paper label to your hanging wire on the far right, or for 3D, an appropriately placed paper label stating your:
Artist‘s Name__  FLAG Area__ Title of artwork__

Hand Delivered and Picked up art – you must schedule the time and day in advance with the named FLAG coordinator. Pickup and delivery are between 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Artists will receive additional information by April 1, 2024, on how to schedule their times.

Insurance – You will receive an email with an insurance form attached.  This must accompany your entry upon delivery of the work.

Work delivered outside the below noted dates and designated time will not be accepted for exhibition.

Delivery deadline – May 20, 2024,  10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Pick-up deadline – July 29 – Aug 1, 2024, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. from same location as delivery.  All hand delivered work must be picked up by August 1, 2024. Shipped art – Ship to the Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) South Gallery – Receiving, 11901 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32246.  Attention: Lynn Lewis for FLAG

Shipped work – should be sent via the artist’s preferred carrier (e.g., UPS, FedEx). Shipped work must arrive at the college no later than May 20, 2024.

All shipped artworks must include a return, prepaid shipping label for the artist’s carrier. The college will begin the return shipment process on August 5, 2024, so give the art several weeks to get back to you. Remember shipping is slower now due to delivery service changes.

If shipping, make sure you include prepaid return postage with your address, be sure to send in reusable packaging. Include clear instructions if your art has unusual hanging or multiple pieces, etc.  Include “FLAG” in your return address label. For example, FLAG Margaret Hodge, 36 N. Ridgewood Avenue, Ormond Beach, FL 32174. 

To help the person hand delivering and picking up your artwork, protect your work by enclosing it in one of the following: a heavy box, a large strong plastic bag sandwiched between 2 large sheets of cardboard (foam core, or other board) and taped securely, or wrap padding like one or more blankets around it securely.

Label all “parts” of the above packing options with Your Name so that all packing supplies can be easily found, thereby assuring safe return of your work.

All Packaging and Shipping boxes (for the purpose of reusing) must have a small (2” x 4”) label on the BOTTOM LEFT corner with the following information:

  • Title
